The airbending arguements continue but i couldnt disagree more.

What doesnt occur to people who call the fire nation villainous, is a simple perception game.
Obviously the awesome and powerful fire nation is looking to optimize its own situation-and the other nations will clearly see that as invasion, or war.
But I doubt the apparent demonization of the asian race/culture diaspora was M.N.S.'s true intent. I could see rather, how he could easily play the piper and write a text with a counter text as subtext.

An oddly enough, I though the movie's was stereotyped in a "white" frame as we see asian, but from a "south asian": point of view, it was not un-normal. Over acting is part of a genre of "Masala" that this country is unaware of. And some negative reviews claimed overacting was the bane of this movie.

http://www.feministing.com/archives/021811.htmll

Contrarily, i find the overacting to be refreshingly South Asian, as opposed to Hollywood style minimal/realist acting in America, we get more of a Masala-Bollywood flavor in the intensity of the acting.
There has been angst that M.N.S. has cast whites in a role for asians. http://io9.com/557607er6/m-night-shyamalan-finally-made-a-comedy I completely think that this directory saw beyond the color line. Are these people crazy? Everyone in the movie is Indian. Everyone. The fact that that there were a few non-indians in the movie, was just th
ere for masala, and thats ok. I found it refreshing. Directors are usually afraid to cast Indians, and now Shyamalan just cast everyone as indian, and i loved it.
Asian Fusion is a huge social commentary all over, and the response is mostly negative.
First Hybrid dining, next its what? hybrid people? I cant believe how piss scared people are of asians, its downright xenophobic, masking itself as "film-review." No one is willing
to even confron the fact that M.N.S. filmed an almost all Indian cast, as an Indian director, and made everyone in America consume it- and now they have indigestion.
Is it even south asians who are boycotting and rioting?
Shyamalan says; " Dev Patel is the actual hero of the series, and he’s Indian, OK"
And we are critics crying that only Indians are the perceived "bad "guys.
I didnt get the flavor that south asians/asians were "bad" in any sense- .
maybe we are supposed to perceive and counter-perceive. Look on and intuit, my senses tell me that people are reading this movie on a surface level, and not all all looking at what the director has done to muddle the path.
M.N.S. says;" The whole point of the movie is that there isn’t any bad or good. The irony is that I’m playing on the exact prejudices that the people who are claiming I’m racist are doing. They immediately assume that everyone with dark skin is a villain. That was an incredibly racist assumption which as it turns out is completely incorrect."
let me quote M.N.S. here once and for all' There are four nations, and I had to eventually make a decision about what nationality each of them are. What happened was, Noah Ringer walked in the door – and there was no other human being on the planet that could play Aang except for this kid. To me, he felt mixed race with an Asian quality to him. I made all the Air Nomads mixed race – some of them are Hispanic, some of them are Korean. Every monk you see in a flashback, in that world, are all mixed race because they’re nomadic. I felt that really worked as a culture. OK, so that’s one-quarter of our world population. The second group is the Fire Nation; when Dev was cast as Zuko, I said, OK, I have to cast an Uncle Iroh that looks like his uncle. We’re going to go from Indian/Persian to Mediterranean, all that group with all its darker colors including Italians.

So now we’re at one-half of the population of the movie which is not white. Moving on to the third group, which is the Earth Kingdom (which is the biggest kingdomsolutely in this fictional world): I liked a bunch of the people who happened to be Japanese, Korean, Philippine, so I decided to make the Earth kingdom Asians. Now we’re at three-quarters of the world. Now I have the brother and sister left. If you don’t have an edict of “don’t put white people in the movie” then the Water Tribe can be European/Caucasian. So lhow it ended up."

http://www.racialicious.com/2010/07/01/m-night-vs-the-internet-the-airbender-mash-up/
So we see that what critics are saying is complete and utter bullshit.
Seems that asians are mad at being cast as bad guys
(they were cast at all?) and whites are mad asians were cast maybe. (they were cast.)
I think casting asians is a good thing. then they get to be in movies, which are awesome. What the fuck is everyone talking about its such complete bullshit.

spicification- has it been happening? and are we all knowing non-latino latinos?
So while its trendy and fashionable to perm and tan, other realities, locales, and accents are still not. But we are moving forward in time, and I want to clearly make the distinction that there is a huge social undercurrent of non latinos emulating latinos.
Its fashion, its dancing, its bushwick becoming parts of williamsburg, its other neighborhoods colliding for no good reason, its change in the heart of flies, its all of the above and much much more for a limited time only.

But this is beautiful, its mixey- its parties its a "scene" which you may or may not be invited to, its is good and cool, as it inspires excellent cross cultural communication barriers to be thrown away, And it makes for excellent  couplings and friendships etc etc.
I want to say that as very different cultures learn from each other, we can possibly mutually benefit.
I just wanted to put a quick name on this  situation as i see it, and i want to say its basically
a type of "spicification ©" [which is] the osmotic process through which an individual ends up being like a spic ...
where spic  is trashy slang for spanish.
but yes.  As cultural inclination tends towards mixing mingling, and diversifying-
its a culture clash with a crazy destiny, as we move toward one end, and they another.
good luck!

The Latino Question
I wanted to be reasonable and display a balanced and methodological argument that approaches the happenings in Arizona today, but unfortunately, what moved me to write was the apparent nature of whats going on. It is a gestapo which will weed out and purify the state of Arizona. We all know what this looks like, we all know what it is. Its becoming too much.
It is more than I can write, and it looks like the SS.

Why did alot of african american voters not vote for Obama?
Black or African American solidarity may be more of a concerpt than a reality.

According to the NYT: (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/10/magazine/10politics-t.html?_r=2)
Older African Americans didn't really vote for Obama as much as younger African Americans did.

The Article talks about guys on capital hill, on city councils, mayors, etc and other politically involved community leaders, like Rev. J. Jackson, and others. And the consensus revealed that Older folks were just as likley to vote for the white candidate as younger folks weren't.

This division in ideology seems to me to be a tear in the status quo of historical trends of culture and newer American culture- which is made up of African American culture just as much as white culture.

For years now I have not understood why animosity was so necessary between these two groups of Americans who clearly are in the same group. It doesnt seem to me that African Americans are any more or less American than any other American. And their individual and collective rights as AAmericans are prtected under the Constitution as well.
Im happy that rifts may close as the younge generations of Americans with increasingly high education and income expectations move forward positively with their peers.

Why are you blaming Vanity Fair

I can’t believe it.

If someone heralds bad news- would you criticize them-especially if they were telling you something you already knew? This is my problem with this whole Vanity Fair bashing thing.

What’s people's beef with Vanity Fair? Why are you hating on them for telling you what you already know?

You've seen movies, you have your eyes open. You see Hollywood for what it is.

And you already know - so why are you getting antsy when a magazine in a simple editorial-style tells you something which is so obvious it barely needs reporting?

Please people- why are you so quick and eager to point out the lack of diversity in a magazine shoot- you should really already be aware and acknowledge the fact that actually Hollywood is the source. So look beyond the symptom for once.

They are not to blame- they are without bias or assumption in their reporting- and when we see the report of [Hollywood] we get mad? C'mon what kind of sense does that make. They are not the perpetrators or creators of this reality, so why shoot them? Because they told you about - so that gives you the right to mouth off- and you want to get mad about it?

I end this with: please people- please see the forest for the trees.

America's future and the great language shift
 Are we ready for this?
I have a list of future projections that will scare most readers! And I'm excited to be in a burgeoning group that lives and sustains itself. We are not the counter culture: we are becoming the dominant culture. We are not your parasite, we are your host now.

According to Wiki "Ethnic Groups in the United States" future projections:

The spectacular growth of the Hispanic population through immigration and higher birth rates are noted as a partial factor for the US’ population gains in the last quarter-century. The Bureau of the Census projects that by 2050 one-quarter of the population will be Hispanic. Bureau figures show the U.S. population grew by 2.8 million between July 1, 2004, and July 1, 2005. Hispanics accounted for 1.3 million of that increase.

Today, non-Hispanic whites make up about 68% of the population. This is expected to fall to 46% in 2050. The report foresees the Hispanic population rising from 15% today to 30% by 2050."

Let me rephrase that: 5 out of every 20 people in america will speak Spanish, or have family members that speak Spanish. And thats starting now continuing on to 30 years.
Soon more than a quarter of this country will be romanced languaged. You can call that exponential population grown. I would absolutely estimate that in anothe 20 years beyond that, practically the entire nation will be Spanish, or be speaking Spanish.

So we can retake our historical views now: The place was "found" by the Spanish, it was settled and then taken from the Spanish, only to finally become Spanish all over again.
All people who speak Spanish (please reread that as a joke, and laugh at the irony.)

Theres a clear distinction in the cultural reason why Spanish cultured people perservere over others.
Education and money fall short. It was never a class issue. Don't bother with that propaganda!

Some people have a death race, while others are racing to live, growing in size, and are educating and perservering.
It's all about our "family values."
This is the thing which promotes the growth of one culture over another, and I respectfully state that.

Ultimately the economical family, which manages the livelihood of its members, the finances of its members, the health of its members, and the overal growth of its members will perservere. In a race to genetically optimize there is no room for selfishness in light of familial interdependency.
Those families which throw away their members, disregard its members, don't take care of its members, and neglect its members of any race culture or ethnicity, will not optimize its genetic potential, and alltogether fail in the darwinian race we are all born to complete.

People shouldn't lament. All things have their cycle to rise and wane. Everyone who lives long then, will see the change in demographics and understand.
And then certain cycles of behaviors, and limited views may come into question.
Lets see and find out, shall we?

Haiti and the future of the United States

I feel bad for Haitians right now in their neediest time, and I'm sure most Americans feel empathy, sympathy, or pity for the sad situation Haitians are in.

I've heard that their entire infrastructure is wiped out. Crossed out, whited-out, erased; thast just sad.

I think all the Haitians should be shipped here, imported here, and helped.

Haiti was a pretty poor place anyway, and now that theres nothing less- why don't we integrate Haitians into this country?

This is a pretty big country, we can help the Haitians by having a mini homesteading-event for them. I think the entire population of Haiti could probably fit in this country with lots of room to spare, and it would be ok.

Anyway, I'm not sure my idea will get very far, but I pray for the best anyway.

The Future of a State: Immigrants and Tuition Fees

It is reasonable to maintain a populations status and quality of life. However to set the bar beyond your own lifetime, is something many people are too short sighted to do, or to do well.
Sen. Ronald L. Rice of New Jersey planned to offer illegal or "undocumented" immigrants an opportunity to go to college at rates on par with naturalized or home grown New Jersians.  Of course this "opportunity" even as a concept was immidiately shut down, because god forbid we help people become pillars and educated members of their society. Documents or no.
Because we really need that many day-laborers, maids, and whatevers.
Thank you for being so lame and short sighted New Jersey.
This is why everyone think you are a blight and
everyone who lives there and comes into New York is Ashamed.
Thanks for attempting to continue apartheid.
Thanks for being so rude and clannish. Thanks for your nepotism-you arent even a clique.

Immigration used to be easy- T O New York- and that was it, name change, and you didnt even need Engish.
Now that spanish speaking peoples and asiatic peoples are fighting for the lower and upper crust jobs: oh please- new jersey- the state that was only an afterthought after new york got expensive-
 the complete immigrant state-
the state that only happened as a result of the holland tunnel, the GW bridge, the lincoln tunnel, and that little bridge off of staten island.
Its amazing how quickly New Jersians demonstrate their new "old immigrant" status by trying to act too smart and not let new illegal immigrants learn to read and get educated.
Dear New Jersey- jsut because your own kids hate school and don't pass high school or ever set foot into a college, doesn't mean that you should ban illegal people who do want to go to school for knowledge ok? Don't be so jealous. Stop trying to cockblock somebody else's opportunity. Thats not cool. You have no right.
But apparently their tax dollars do have a right!
So to honor the rights of the tax dolars, votes have been cast, and the final result is that
immigrants can't pay in-state tuition. Which translates into No education.
Id only like to say, that the entire state of New Jersey is nothing but immigrants and their descendants one or two generations removed.
How quickly they forget that they are neither Anglo nor is English their anscestral tongue!
But they are very quick to point their finger at newbie immigrants and deny them education.
My feeling is that the newbie immigrants (undocumented) or documented, wouldnt join unions and clog up
the labor markets or live in tenements.
My feeling is that they would start businesses. Alas if they only had the capital.
But I digress. On CNN it has been said:

"Sen. Ronald L. Rice said "these young adults are the future of New Jersey," and "their success and the prosperity of the state are inextricably linked."

Meanwhile, New Jersey Assemblyman Samuel Thompson, a Republican who opposed the bill, said, "You can call it undocumented. You can call it whatever you want. But you are not legal, and you are not entitled."

And boom, the bill didn't pass.

Oh well undocumented people- good luck, maybe in your next life.
NJ- you are shameless.

President Obama and the master race game

So I see on CNN that
" Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid apologized Saturday for making racially insensitive remarks about Barack Obama during the presidential campaign."

Essentially it has been heard, reported and published that Sen. Reid said that "Obama as a black candidate, could be successful thanks, in part, to his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."

This of course is controversial to the x power, and just prints money. Forget about magazines, books, talk show airings, public news announcements, newspapers- those things generate money. The reporters of this "choice of words" were definitely aiming to go beyond that and themselves simply print money in a  scheme to generate controversy and profit.

Because the senator was almost as a friend and was definitely a supporter of the then would be President, Pres. Obama publically said he forgave the guy. Which is great- he's busy running the entire world, not just the U.S- I'm glad to see he's bigger than dumb made-up controversy- written by guys who have nothing better to do socially than make people argue over fabrication.

Of course this scene will absolutely never die down. And although I'm not a sympathizer of people who are biassed and discriminate in any fashion, I doubt that Sen. Reid was much of a rascist.

It seems to me that a rascist wouldn't fervently and rabidly support a President that "different" in race, culture, and background. And it seems logical to note that the Senator only said what he directly observed about the President: making no judgements based on predisposed thought patterns, or cultural sterotypes. He said the president is light-skinned - and he is. Everyone on Earth would agree to that. There are very fair people on Earth, and very tan people on Earth- both are ok. The constitution of the United States of America ideally protects the rights of both. I wouldn't doubt a forward thinking person's abillity to observe that yes, Obama is considered black, or African-American -and only 50 years ago, the "right" term to use for that group of people was negro.

Something to Wiki: "Negro" superseded "colored" as the most polite terminology, at a time when "black" was still generally regarded as negative. The United States Census Bureau announced that "Negro" would be included on the 2010 United States Census, alongside "Black" and "African-American," because some older Americans still self-identify with the term.

My point in brightly illustrating this, is only to demonstrate how semantics demonstrate only Escher. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, thats all I'm saying.
If anything, I feel bad that the Sen. got slammed for not using the right jargon of the times. More than 50 years ago, the word "negro" was a description of a powerful uniting people who had a deep history- now its a rascist word. But this word has many colors and its meaning diffuse over the diaspora of its users-speakers who render its cultural meaning absolutely different than people not only not of their own region, but perhaps also of their own town.
Then people of African descent-English speakers in the United states- were then proudly called "black."
Of course Anglo-American's are still called "white," a term which should go the way of the dinosaur-but probably wont.

I like equality for all people so i refer to black and whites as Americans with a capital A. And anyway now the word "black" is out, "white" is still in, & "African-American" is in.
I do think that the Senator's problem was more linguistic, and less rascist. And though I'm not apologizing for his lack of clarity in word choice, or his perhaps unclear political alignment due to his use of an outdated term of a people, he's 71. His agendas this late in his political career are crystal clear. If he didn't like Obama, he wouldn't have helped him get into office.

People need to chill out, and stop trying to bring up negative thoughts by implying things that didn't happen.  And everyone else should analyze: who profits in cash cash money from idiotic controversies? Whose names are on those books? Who authored it, and whose name is on the check?

Is this social injustice? Or has dating discrimination gone too far?

Essentially this video captures African American females who are JD, PhD, MBA professionals and asks the question: why can't they get married? These higher-ed thirties singles are double their potential black-male potential partners, and for several reasons. The article says some black men are in jail, while others don’t meet education or income requirements for this high maintenance ladies. '
My ultimate question here is: why are these women only willing to "wait" for their ideal African American partner? Why don’t they open their dating doors to everyone else in this wide world who likes them?
I feel like they are single because they discriminate and set up way too many filters.
I also think that they may not be aware of their chances of success. Whenever I have a question, I do look at different sets of statistical analysis: and in this case black women ration black men 2:1 about.
Which supports a less discriminatory view on dating, not a more restrictive one.
The next thing that I don't understand is, if they are holders of higher degrees, and have received education in this country, why are their dating habits racist-leaning? Why do they retain the small-minded "only date ""your own kind"" lifestyle when the world is shrinking and technology brings the world closer?
At first I felt bad for these women, because they don't have partners to share their lives with, but now I think that their loneliness is a result of their biased selfishness; a long standing racist tradition which continues on in this country.

To rent or not to rent: that is the question as gold falls from the sky
With your favorite element sliding downward, (and commodities sliding along with crude)
Now's not the time.

But with an 8000 tax credit looming for first time home buyers, what will one do?

I'm not trying to knock anyone, but all I'll say regarding the housing -defaulting situation, is :
Owning a house, isn't for everyone. Read that again. That doens't mean Living in a house is not for you, I'm just saying Owning it. Because please remember, along with the house, you own its taxes, liabilities, and repairs, and oil or gas bills along with heating and water and sewage payments.

I'll let you know: I grew up in an apartment. Sure, It didn't have a pool in a backyard, but my family measured their benefits, and decided. They had much more expendable income through Not owning that I can't even imagine the financially constrained lifestyle or mortgage payments. And so many Americans owe more mortgage than their house is worth that its completely pointless.

Now that, Greece, Spain, and Portugal got their ratings knocked- is the EU going to crumble?  The UK, US and Jpn are not that far behind them. And these countries Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece, as well as the Baltic States, Hungary and Poland- are predicted to (what?) crash, stretch beyond their means? go into depression? The EU isn't strong it would seem... Overall, the outlook isn't good.
This too big to fail model imposed on us by governments globally- is complete crap. Each and every one fo these things is failing. Whose idea was this?

But back to apartments: I'm a fan of renting, because when you rent, the term "quantitative easing" isn't anywhere near your personal vocabulary, and your own financial liquidity is so much higher. And your worries are lower. So you can relax more.
I do however think that consequences are sundered from actions when people simply default because of a change of heart, because they can. And then what? Ultimately the banks eat the loss. I find the system in place to be wierd. Its a circumstance with no consequence for the owner/mortgage payer, but instead for the tax payers who eat the bill when the gov. bails out banks. I find this unfair that the tax payers eat the burden. It seems that people are short sighted, and that eager to lend-banks are the most short sighted.

Separating consequence from actions is a dangerous game the world's top players are in. If it's true that human psychology has a large basis of reward and punishment, then this disconnect could be the reason why no one has a clue whats going to happen next in the world as we know it.

Head spins and false starts: rallying dollar and rising gold

How can one tell if shareholders and investors alike are reacting in fear? I'll only say: If one is hedging his currency devaluation with gold hoarding (and i mean hoarding), than why are both rising? Both - together - at the same time- its more than anyone's guess which will outlast the other. And suicides are on the rise- Americans are not as happy as time Mag claimed I feel. Either that, or something's rotten in the state of Denmark, methinks. I mention this because my last blog presumed people would smile until their currency would stop plunging- that their happyness would somehow establish a triple A rating. But sadly not so.

To Flag or not to flag: Bullish Dollars and Hamster Hotels in the modern day Gold Rush

Floods are creating Rice famines in Asia; job creation in the U.S is negligible, and with a flagging dollar in tow, what I want to call "Western Civilization" is moving toward the new normal- and it doesn't seem we have the financial escape velocity to break free.

The world's AU buyers drive the price of gold up to the Icarus sun while our pace of recovery on this side is relatively slow. So if you don't own gold-give it up- now is not the time to try on jewelry - even costume climbs in price. When people fear their notes dropping like flies, they push until bullion skyrockets.

Across the pond there's another yarn to spin; the defiant decadence of the Hamster Hotel. The amusement amidst these bubbles only demonstrates the psychology of the moment. We are faced with critical problems the globe has never heard of-and our options are few. So our answer is: head to a hotel where we can pretend to be a hamster. Then we can sleep in something like hamster bedding or hay, and dress in a hamster hat with a felt suit.

I'm not criticizing a hotel owner's ability to think creatively about profit-instead I'm applauding it. I just wonder how, as the titanic grinds against an iceberg, we continue to drink and dance. Are we fatalists? Or just creative enough to see past the immediate and short sighted view of our current global dilemmas. And I don't blame a single person for their decadence in this situation.

As the rush to own something of value -that can't be devalued- magnifies, other commodities, like simple-milk, veggies, wheat, and rice get stretched. Like Dali's clock at the edge of a supermassive black hole (don't get scared- we aren't there yet.) Anyway, these commodities become overvalued, then when the dollar gets bullish, start to tank. And as floods sweep over-they become overvalued again. While gold continues to climb. And through this, the downward turning economies-like the late Roman Empire, can only keep dreaming a little dream of ourselves-that we can sustain the unsustainable.

So like the vomitoriums of old-with their culture and psychology in tow, we play dress up-as hamsters while the world around us disintegrates further and further, as the FED is in the tangled web it wove.

Maybe it's the Book of Revelations, maybe its the Ragnarök, or maybe it's the Freudian death drive- just as strong as the survival instinct- in the American psyche, but I'm not sure there is an American out there that would turn away the fun-silliness of the little animal's life for USD 150.0 a night. Global recession or not, nuclear meltdown notwithstanding, something in our cultural collective psychology leads us to drink in this moment with rapture. Time Mag found Americans statistically happier now, than they were in the pre-recession. I can see why, for some groups, a life less filled with materialism may translate to a more meaningful life; but definitely this only can apply to some Americans, and not all.

In a serious situation, any lightheartedness is greatly appreciated. Even for a day- in a credit crunched- savings oriented economy, with limited personal finances- I think its appeal outweighs its cost.
It may seem another unreasonable Peter Pan fantasy, but the draw of the hamster cage- may be too much for us.

Welcome to the vomitorium.

The Empty Nest and Entropy: The Baby Boom Bust and the Fall of Fertility

Nov 3rd

It all has to do with the Peter Pan Syndrome, that we humans are a part of- we don't want to recognize our termination of life, we don't recognize endings...
Although global warming and geo-scientists warn us that earth's population is becoming critical and that resources to feed and nourish (especially water) this global community are shrinking, there is one point that wasn't accounted for in the population projections; which is the steep decline in fertility rates. As industrialization changes agrarian life in unindustrialized countries, women's primary role as principal breeder/ family caretaker, is shifting into a more industrious one. And with the shirking of that old role also slides away the principal breeder position.

By 2050 the projected population of earth will be 9. something billion, the replacement rate of fertility will have been reached. “Replacement fertility”—the number of children women must have, on average, over their childbearing years to produce a stationary population—is 2.1 children. "

Its a new age, and I doubt the learned speculators will be ready for it and what it means. I sympathize with earth-green-conscious people, and I love eco-friendly measures that should be taken, but my primary concern is for earthlings as opposed to the earth itself.

Its a simple notion called entropy; in a small burst of light, the earth and the iner planets are all back to cosmic dust anyway. Water tables recede, glacial runoff shrinks, as economies shrink-> of course birth rates' decline should fall into line with these. Doesn't everything have a beat or rhythm to adhere to? Even the sun exhausts its hydrogen and has its path to trace.

I'm honestly not too worried about the situation on the globe- small measures for conservation are probably all thats going to happen regardless of anyone's chatter. No country is willing to slow their pace of growth to save a few whales, or the ocean in general. No country is willing to disarm, or clean the air if it means petroleum can't be burnt. So there we have it- our colective future is written in methane- until we become planet venus part two, with that ugly yellow greenhouse choking a 700 degree (F) surface.

No, I like ecofriendliness, but I can't foresee countries acting in favor of a cleaner world; they simply think it's their right to ruin as much as has been done before their chance to ruin came. Which is possibly the most selfish and rediculous thing I've ever heard of- but so it is. So moving onto human destruction- yes, birth rate decline and populations leveling out - humans seem to be balancing birth rate, and replacement rate of humans with mortality rate (for mostly industrialized places anyway). This absolutely wasn't foreseen- doomy reports have from time immemorial stated that humans will outgrow their resources. But now it seems there will be humans on earth (probably ten billion) but not the trillions we were expecting.

There isn't enough water on this planet for that many people anyway. Which is sad. But in the over industrialized places where baby boomers are, there is a vantage point of seeing it all over again. And although it seems that they are doomed not to, I wish some of these industrializing countries would learn from the mistakes already made.

From Samhain to string bikinis in a W shaped recession

When did Halloween (samhain) start becoming an excuse for women to go into the streets like strippers? I know the super-hero theme is a great one, but that’s no reason to be out on Halloween in bras and thongs.
Its not only tacky, but its weird. I'm not going to say anything on the devaluation of the female body, or moral degradation. What I do want to note, is that if the recession is going to be w shaped- then we all should expect a paradigm shift. And this definitely has more to do with American women than anyone else.

Forget the Disproportionate gendered-pay scale; expect to see more thongs in the streets, as lending remains frozen and as industries shrink.
Women have perhaps more civil rights in this country than elsewhere on Earth. As the dominance of this country (especially as the reserve currency) shakes, the natural response of people is to  1. start saving 2. Conserve all other resources and dare I, with a philosophical bent, just say that they may become more conservative- and retrogradedly reserve their liberal inclinations and hold-fast to those archaic standards that "worked" in their time.

Looking over the ancient societies, we may notice that women were : traded as a commodity, hoarded as a wealth, warred over, and ultimately not given the privilege/right of autonomy.
I expect that as the GDP and private wealth shrinks further, we will see a resurgence of this kind of attitude prevailing.

So far this up-and-coming-teenage-ish younger generation hasn't strictly been defined, except maybe through its itunes catalog. But in a serious sense, the kind of "freedom" and "independence" that adult women expect and have experienced may be something that cannot be afforded in the same sense.
Without financial freedoms, and a growing economy that is risk-hungry, capitalism will undoubtedly rear its masulinist/gender biased head.

And although I'm not saying its right, I'm definitely saying it's expected. Hiring freezes are already something every company has experienced. I'm not saying women won't get hired- there are incentives for women to be hired on by companies- 1. They earn less 2. The Gov. give tax breaks in some cases to companies that hire women. 3. They are generally more stable of a hire.
These incentives will assure that women as a workforce won't necessarily be pushed back to the 1940's style -post WWII situation. But I definitely feel shaky about what kind of future young women will have.

That’s more reason than ever for young ladies especially to start their intellectual growth early. And this whole business of wearing bikinis in the streets, well, in unindustrialized places, where women can't get jobs, the same trends are seen. Except that it's their day job- not just a Halloween prank.
Am I the only one scared between what little shred of economy we have left which links the two?

Dogs, Descending Birth Rates , and the Declining Dollar

It starts with civil rights;
Stop asking for more rights, you have too many rights already dog- If I said it once, I'll never say it again, dogs can't marry people- its all a part of another marriage policy-change probably.
But back to dogs, yes canines.
My own dog story: I had a dog once, and he was a good dog- I loved him. But I was a kid then, and thats it.

Dogs don't need latte.
Dogs don't need college.
Nor do they need high art or philanthropy, or shopping.

But while we fall in love with dogs, we have a death race, catching up.
Two web sites to think about:

http://usgovinfo.about.com/cs/censusstatistic/a/aabirthrate.htm

http://www.rightpundits.com/?p=4555

Why these sites? I thought that with more and more divorce (dare I again say one in two marriages ends in divorce) there are less and less children...and more and more dogs?

If people would stop being in love with their dog, and instead be with their spouse maybe they'd have more kids?

And that leads us to American children.
Wiki this:

"While ranking below average in science and mathematics understanding compared to other developed countries,... there was a 77% graduation rate from high school, below that of most developed countries."

So What we can definitely say here, is some people put their dogs through college education, while others people let their children get GEDs.
Stop eating Dog Food people! You don't love your kids the way you love your dog!
Stop loving your dog like you were supposed to love your kids.
You take care of your dogs better than your kids, and it shows-your pets have new sweaters while your kids have nothing. Stop that.

I observe that people are replacing spouse-relationships, with dog relationships...
Are you telling me they are easier to handle because they don't bark back ...all the time?
It's a dog, not a date. So stop being in love with it.

Dog lovers might be mad...
but a clear line needs to be drawn between what is societally stupid and what is ok. Althought its a rediculous line to draw, replacing human love with dog love is illegal, and stop treating your dog better than your spouse.

You cannot file a civil case because you want to marry your dog. And anyway if you did marry your dog, you'd probably separate, and then I'd be saying-stop trying to divorce your dog.

But let's go to the dollar's decline:
check this out from
about
  1. "The U.S. debt is rising to over $12 trillion."

That can mean, in simple terms - stop  buying your pet wonderfully beautiful pet-toys on your credit card. I'm not going to go into names here, but you basically know who you are.

  2. The large debt could force the U.S. to raise taxes to pay it off, which would slow economic growth.

So when you dog lovers go to pay your taxes coming soon- please, stop your bs; your dog does not count as a dependant. There is no reason on this earth why dogs should be claimed on taxes.

I want to go into nutrition for a moment. America may be considered unhealthy, with skyscraper numbers of obesity and heart disease. I wanted to throw this out there- Why do dogs eat gourmet, measured diets, with vitamins, minerals, and protein in abundance, while people eat shight from cans or fast food for a few bucks? What does it say about the mentality of people, who spend more on gourmet dog food, while barely sustaining themselves?

Part of the new America is to revamp health care- but let me just say- please dog owners, don't try to get medicaid for your dog ok?

That all being said, I'm a member of PETA, and I'd never do anything to hurt animals. Take good care of your pet.

Musical influence on the young mind-undetected messages and the infidelity /divorce race

No offense to country music, or to any one singer personally, but I offhandedly turned on the radio to local pop hits, and was listening in today.

I was appalled at the content of the lyrics.
http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/taylor_swift/you_belong_with_me.html

It just seemed like this narrator is obsessed with a guy in a relationship (lets read that as married for hypothetical purposes). Essentially- the song expressed an infidelity desire, and this is the homewrecking-instinct being displayed. It seemed so obsessive- this -trying to get inside a guys head thing. I believe in female empowerment- meaning-woman, go get a higher education and an awesome career. Don't just try to wreck people's relationships, please go develop yourself in an intellectual manner and stop becoming obsessive/compulsive-neurotic over a guy.

(I'm going to throw a few numbers out now)

According to divorce statistics, it is estimated that between 40 percent and 50 percent of first marriages end in divorce in the United States.

Let me repeat: its 1 out of every 2 marriages. Probably instigated in part by infidelity. So let me quote these numbers for you:

22% of men and 14% of women admit to having affairs
· 70% of married women and 54% of married men never knew of their spouses affair
· 90% of Americans believe adultery is morally wrong
· 17% of U.S. divorces are caused by affairs

According to Janis Abrahms Spring, author of "After the Affair":

· Affairs affect 1 in every 2.7 couples
· 10% of affairs last 1 day
· 10% last more than 1 day but less than 1 month
· 50% last more than a month but less than a year
· 40% last for more than 2 years!
· The divorce rate for those who marry their lover is 75%
--------
A song promoting this kind of obsessive homewrecking motif- can only positively promote
the urge towards infidelity and competitive hostility between women.
But of course the real issue is that it spawns a huge disconnect, a competitive basis for relationships towards women. The benefit of cooperation in moving forward to achieve goals and upward momentum as a group is disturbed, when women cattily compete over men with each other.
Serious issues like (more) equal pay for equal work, and workplace discrimination can NEVER be addressed so long as the local aspirations of women are to compete over a man, instead of individual development.
So i'm disgusted. But it's not taylor swift's fault. She is merely telling it like it is.
Its a sad symptom of a further cause.

Listen up women: stop chasing after other people's men. Its just too much of a degrading time waste, and it shows complete disregard for "that other woman" and disrespect to your own dignity.

Why Health Care reform?

Let me paraphrase Neitzche; quality healthcare is dead.
Like dollar stores, with cheaply made low quality-disposable products, medicines have a short shelf life for the "first world" or the industrialized world.

Expired medicines, as we know, are donated to unindustrialized places.
So why, may I ask, are expired medicines no good to eat on the homefront, but A-Ok overseas?

Be suspicious of medicine-expiration dates. It seems kind of convenient that medicines quickly expire and we are supposed to get rid of them.

People genuinely don't throw these things out...but they are "supposed to."
If it were true, why on earth does everyone here have a "medicine cabinet"?
So we are all chemists and part time pharmacists, apparently. But doctors are steadfast in their mandate: don't eat expired medicine.
At the same time however, these same expired throwaways support unindustrialized countries healthcare, and subsidize or support their pharmaceutical needs.
So why does our waste become their medical support?

Doesn't it greatly benefit the healthcare industry and pharma both that we have to re-up all the time?
we have to see the doctor (doctor's cost, clinics cost, and support cost) and then buy new medicine (cost) and these medicines can be potentially very expensive.
It doesn't surprise me in the least bit that doctors give the advice; take all your medicine till its done, and then throw away the rest.

If everyone did this, healthcare and pharma make billions. (read: bajillions)

Essentially HealthCare and Pharma have a huge incentive in disposable medicines. Its this completely short turn around from quality to disposability that makes doctor's behaviors seems more like 99cent store financial ethics. Why? Read on...

President Obama, Unindustrialized Countries, and Expired Medicine- A Chinese dollar Store Odyssey 2009-10
Why are medicines that are deemed ok for unindustrialized people deemed not ok and not safe to consume for industrialized societies?

I am not a doctor- so dont take my advice or learn from my example, because here's my disclaimer; although its done in unindustrialized nations, and its done here in America, it's not recommended by any doctors.

Uninsured people- I feel your pain. I have bronchitis right now -
and some expired medicine from india.

To let you know whats connecting me to the rest of the global world-
I am consuming expired medicines in lieu of health care.

What does this have to do with Chinese dollar stores? (By the way chinese dollar store owners (and other dollar store owners) i love you and you supply my life with everything i need. thank you.) but again what is the connection with chinese dollar stores? I feel that the health care industry is like a chinese dollar store as it supplies items that are strategically designed-so as to be replaced with high frequency.

Here's why. But first the backstory.
When I was a kid, i remember vaguely hearing around, that people should buy Quality things, things that were definitely more expensive, but lasted longer. Why spend more? Because it was quality, and it would last. Supposedly. Fast forward into nowadays, with repeat buying of products a buy product of their disposability and cheap make.

The Name of so called quality, has itself been fabricated in china as a result of a globalized economy and outsourcing. I paraphrase Nietzsche: Quality is dead. Our global village opened the doors to cheaper produced wage-slavery-made- items that everyone can afford. Because they are damn affordable (Thank you china.)

So, whats that got to do with healthcare?
Again, when i was a kid, insurance was paid for out of pocket, and we assumed it was the best way, for quality care. Currently I am uninsured, and with bronchitis in hand, I looked to my medicine chest.
And I saw something that quacked like my old medicine- something like what I took the last time my bronchitis bothered me.

I read online that perhaps almost all doctors swear off eating old medicine. They DEFINITELY  do not prescribe it to their patients. They do not advice it for laymen. There of course is no mention or what to do in case you are uninsured, and dont have accessibility to a doctor or medical practitioner.
There is only their stern and fair mandate- dont eat expired medicine.

But lets go back to the chinese dollar store.
If you shop for everything you own in a dollar store like me, then you may notice a trend- everything breaks all the time. Why? Perhaps quality assurance is low. Perhaps the cost of Q A is more than reproducing the item in question. I dont pretend to know why. But I guestimate that if something breaks 2 times, and you re-buy it 2 times; and, if its still cheaper than an american brand after re-buying it, then you benefit and the chinese benefit. They have an incentive for making things cheaply. And and its cheaper still without Q A. And your benefit of course, is that you save money, and who doesn't want to save money in these times?

But why bother about Chinese Dollar stores and old medicine?

Its known that old medicines from this country are donated to unindustrialized places.
Doctor's prescribe throwing out old medicine, so that like Chinese dollar stores, you can keep consulting them (cost) and buy more pharmaceuticals (cost) which ultimately will benefit healthcare and pharma.

So you keep throwing it out and buying a new one, like an over-cheap can-opener.
Im not donating my old medicine at this time, im consuming it.
Health Care Reform is a definite question, when doctors ' behavior seem to mirror dollar store's financial policies.
